Jobber is a good product, and plenty of Australian tradies run it happily. But it is built for North America, and in Australia that shows: the price is in US dollars, and its own pricing page lists built-in card payments and two-way texting for the US, Canada and the UK only. If you want software priced in dollars you recognise, with GST, PAYG and SWMS in mind, these are the alternatives worth a look.

Our verdict
For most Australian trade businesses leaving Jobber, Tradify is the closest like-for-like switch: priced in AUD, mature, and connected to both Xero and MYOB. ServiceM8 is the better buy if your crew is on iPhones and you do a lot of small jobs, because staff are free and you pay by job volume. Sole traders who mostly want quoting, invoicing and the GST side handled cheaply should look at Yamate, the newest app here, which we tested hands-on.

Why Australian businesses switch from Jobber
Price and currency. Jobber’s pricing page, including its Australian address, says “All prices in USD” and that prices exclude sales tax. Your AUD cost moves with the exchange rate, and many cards add a foreign-transaction fee on top. A crew of three needs Jobber’s Connect plan for 2–5 people: US$199 a month on no commitment, US$149 a month billed annually.
Features listed for other countries. On the same page, Jobber says two-way text messaging is “available in the United States, Canada and the UK”, and that online card payments are “available in the US, Canada & UK”. Its help centre says Australian accounts can connect a third-party payment integration such as Stripe or Square, on selected plans, so you can still get paid by card. It is one more account to set up and pay fees on.
Australian admin isn’t in scope. Jobber’s payroll link is Gusto, a US payroll service, and nothing on its pricing page covers PAYG withholding, super, Single Touch Payroll, BAS or SWMS. Its feature list names QuickBooks Online and Xero sync; MYOB isn’t mentioned.
The best Jobber alternatives for Australia, ranked
1. Tradify
Best overall Jobber alternative in Australia
New Zealand, sold in AUD
Lite A$48, Pro A$52, Plus A$62 per user a month, ex GST
Tradify is the most direct swap for a Jobber user: the same quote-schedule-invoice loop, priced in Australian dollars, with two-way Xero sync and MYOB AccountRight support. It is per user, A$48–A$62 a month ex GST, so it suits a business where most people genuinely need a login. Timesheets and recurring jobs start on the Pro plan.
Pros
Priced in AUD, published openly
Connects to Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks Online
Mature and widely used by Australian and New Zealand tradies
ServiceM8 is Australian-built and charges by jobs per month, not by person, so ten staff cost the same as two. There is a free plan for 30 jobs a month and one user, and paid plans from $29 a month incl GST. The catch is the phone: the full app is iPhone and iPad. Android staff get the lighter ServiceM8 Lite app today; a rebuilt Android app went into beta in August 2026.
Pros
Unlimited staff on every paid plan
Prices include GST, so the sticker is the bill
Large form store, including JSA, SWMS and certificates
Cons
Full app is iPhone/iPad only for now
A busy month can push you into the next job tier
SMS beyond the allowance is 10c each, and forms are a paid add-on
Essentials "from $53" and Professional "from $77" a month; timesheet users from $26 a month each. The page doesn’t say whether these are per user or include GST
Fergus is built around knowing whether a job is making money while you are still on it, which suits plumbers and electricians running bigger, multi-visit jobs. It connects to Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks and includes a free onboarding session. Its published pricing is the hardest to read here: “from” figures with no note on per-user or GST, plus separate charges for timesheet users, contractors and SMS.
Pros
Strong job costing and workflow
Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks integrations
Phone support on the Professional plan
Cons
You can’t work out your monthly bill from the pricing page
Yamate is a new Australian app (launched August 2026) that does quoting, jobs, invoicing and payment chasing from a phone, with GST, tax set-aside, payslips and safety documents built in. $19 a month on the Founder price, or $29, covers up to three people, far less than anything else here. In our hands-on test the AI quoting was quick and useful but needed checking. Its payroll works out PAYG and super but can’t report to the ATO yet, and it is too new to have a track record.
Pros
$19–$29 a month for up to three people, no lock-in
Built for Australian admin: GST, ABN, BAS reminders, WHS templates
30-day trial with no card, then a free one-person plan
AroFlo is an Australian platform for growing contractors with real compliance and asset work: inbuilt safety and compliance forms, WHS features, and integrations with Xero, MYOB and the Reece and Rexel supplier systems. It starts at $80 a user a month with a three-user minimum, and you start with a demo rather than a self-serve trial.
Pros
Inbuilt WHS, compliance and safety forms
Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and supplier integrations
Australian-built
Cons
Three-user minimum, so a sole trader pays for three
simPRO is the heavyweight: projects, stock, maintenance contracts and multi-crew scheduling for established contracting businesses. There is no public price, so expect a sales process and an implementation. If you are leaving Jobber because you have outgrown it, it belongs on the list. If you just want cheaper or more local, it doesn’t.
Pros
Deepest project, inventory and maintenance tooling here
Jobber already runs your business well, you have card payments set up through a connected processor, and your bookkeeper is happy with the Xero sync.
You also work in the US, Canada or the UK, where the full feature set applies.
You rely on Jobber’s client hub, online booking or quoting add-ons and the AUD/USD swing doesn’t worry you.

How to switch from Jobber in Australia
1.Check your commitment first. Jobber now sells 1-year commitment pricing alongside month-to-month, so look at your billing settings before you plan a cancellation date.
2.Export clients, quotes, jobs, invoices and your products and services list to CSV. Jobber emails the exports to you.
3.When you import, check the dates. Jobber is an American app and exports can read month-first, so 03/04 becomes 4 March instead of 3 April. Spot-check a few old invoices after the import.
4.Recreate recurring jobs and re-attach photos by hand: those rarely come across in a CSV.
5.Set GST on your items and price list in the new app before you send a single quote, and add your ABN, which a tax invoice needs.
6.Move card payments last, once open invoices are paid, then run both apps for one billing cycle before you cancel Jobber.
Jobber alternatives in Australia: FAQ
Does Jobber work in Australia?
Yes. You can sign up and run Jobber in Australia, but it is priced in US dollars, and its pricing page lists two-way texting and built-in card payments for the US, Canada and the UK only. Australian accounts can connect a third-party processor such as Stripe or Square for card payments, on selected plans.
What is the best Jobber alternative for Australian tradies?
Tradify, for most businesses: it is priced in AUD and works with Xero and MYOB. ServiceM8 is better for iPhone crews doing a lot of small jobs, because staff are free and you pay by job volume. Yamate is the cheapest paid option for a sole trader or a crew of up to three, but it only launched in 2026.
Which Jobber alternative is cheapest in Australia?
Two have free plans: ServiceM8 (30 jobs a month, one user) and Yamate (one person, no job limit, texts sent from your own phone). On paid plans for a crew of three, Yamate is $19 a month on its Founder price ($29 after 30 November 2026), ServiceM8 is $29 incl GST for up to 50 jobs a month, and Tradify Pro is A$156 ex GST.
Do any of these apps run Australian payroll and Single Touch Payroll?
None of them lodges Single Touch Payroll for you today. Yamate calculates PAYG withholding and super and produces payslips, but says plainly that it does not report payroll to the ATO. It told us it has applied to the ATO to lodge from inside the app. Until an app can, you need STP-enabled payroll software, which for most tradies means Xero, MYOB or a dedicated payroll app.
Which of these can do SWMS?
ServiceM8 sells JSA, SWMS and certificate forms through its Forms add-on, AroFlo includes compliance and safety forms, and Yamate has a built-in library of WHS templates, including a job safety analysis that flags high-risk construction work. In all of them you write and sign the controls. None of them makes a SWMS compliant for you.
