Read-only "offline" is the default, and it is not enough
When a vendor says the app works offline, assume it means the technician can look at cached job data until you confirm otherwise. The question to put to a salesperson is deliberately narrow: with the device in airplane mode, can my technician change the job status to complete, add line items, capture a customer signature, attach five photos, and have every one of those upload by itself later? Do not evaluate this on a demo call over office wifi, because it will always look fine.
